Report on the Free Medical Outreach Program Program: LGA-Wide Free Medical Outreach Occasion: Celebration of the 38th Birthday of the Founder Organized by: Chima Anyaso Foundation Location: Communities across Bende Local Government Area, Abia State Duration: 10 Days

  1. Introduction

To commemorate the 38th birthday of its founder, the Chima Anyaso Foundation  organized a large-scale free medical outreach program across communities in Bende  Local Government Area of Abia State.

The initiative was designed to improve access to healthcare for rural residents who often  face financial and logistical barriers to medical services. Over the course of ten days, a  team of medical professionals moved from community to community delivering essential  healthcare services to residents.

The outreach provided medical consultations, diagnosis, prescription and dispensing of  medications, and referrals for advanced treatment where necessary.

  1. Objectives of the Medical Outreach

The outreach program aimed to achieve the following objectives:

  • Provide free healthcare services to underserved rural populations.
  • Identify and diagnose common medical conditions affecting community  residents.
  • Provide access to essential medications for individuals who could not afford  treatment.
  • Refer complex cases to hospitals for further medical care.
  • Promote health awareness and preventive healthcare practices. 3. Program Implementation

To ensure wide coverage across the Local Government Area, the Foundation deployed a  mobile medical team that travelled from one community to another during the ten-day  outreach.

Medical services provided included:

  • General medical consultations
  • Diagnosis of medical conditions
  • Prescription of appropriate medications
  • Dispensing of drugs on-site
  • Referrals for advanced or specialized medical care

The outreach model ensured that healthcare services reached multiple communities  within the LGA, particularly those with limited access to medical facilities.

  1. Beneficiaries

During the 10-day medical outreach:

  • Approximately 2,300 adults received medical care

Beneficiaries included:

  • Elderly residents
  • Farmers and traders
  • Low-income households
  • Individuals with previously untreated medical conditions

For many participants, the outreach provided their first opportunity to receive  professional medical consultation in a long time

  1. Welfare and Refreshments for Participants

To ensure the comfort and well-being of residents who attended the outreach, the  Foundation also provided light refreshments and meals during the program.

Items served included:

  • Eggs and mineral drinks
  • Gala and mineral drinks
  • Rice with beef and bottled water

These provisions helped support participants who often spent several hours at the  outreach centers waiting for medical attention.

  1. Impact of the Program

The medical outreach had a meaningful impact on communities across Bende LGA. Improved Access to Healthcare

Residents who typically struggle to afford medical consultations were able to receive free  diagnosis, treatment, and medications

Early Detection of Health Conditions

The outreach enabled the early identification of various health issues, allowing patients to  receive timely treatment or referral for specialized care.

Reduced Financial Burden

By providing consultations, medications, and referrals free of charge, the program  significantly reduced healthcare costs for participating households.

Strengthened Community Well-being

The program reinforced the importance of health awareness and encouraged residents to  seek professional medical care when needed.

  1. Impact Story

During the outreach, many residents shared stories of how financial limitations had  prevented them from seeking medical attention for months or even years. Some individuals  had been living with untreated symptoms simply because they could not afford  consultation fees or medications.

Through the mobile medical outreach organized by the Chima Anyaso Foundation, these  residents were able to receive professional medical evaluation and treatment at no cost.

For several elderly beneficiaries, the outreach represented their first comprehensive  health check in years, while others received medications that immediately improved their  health conditions.

The presence of the medical team moving from community to community ensured that  healthcare services reached even the most remote parts of the Local Government  Area

  1. Conclusion

The Free Medical Outreach Program organized by the Chima Anyaso Foundation to mark  the founder’s 38th birthday demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the health  and well-being of rural communities.

By providing free consultations, medications, referrals, and welfare support to  approximately 2,300 adults across multiple communities, the program significantly  improved access to healthcare services for underserved populations.

The initiative stands as a powerful example of community-focused philanthropy that  prioritizes health, dignity, and human welfare.
